Hi all
True teaching consists of stimulating the students' thinking processes somehow to make them earn the information rather than receive it passively. Blogging is actually one way of getting both teachers and students engaged in and out of the classroom and an invitation to peers and parents to criticize or evaluate the learning process, to support the failures and celebrate the successes, which I see as the most practical quality a blog can have.
The first time I thought about sharing a blog with my students I was mainly aiming to encourage them to read in English, then later I had them react to what they read by commenting or installing posts of their own on the blogpage and I can say that things went a bit better than with classroom traditional reading assignments.
I personally, learnt that teachers in the present digital era need digital approaches to keep their styles updated and compatible with the preferences of the wired generation they work with.
Best.
